Feral Library of Knowledge

Project was made at Krater Collective in Ljubljana.
The concept, design and execution was made in close collaboration with Elie Seksig.

(Feral) Library of (Feral) Knowledge brings together books and seeds as equal knowledge containers. The knowledge of the leaves, roots, stems, fruits and new seeds, are all contained within the seed in the form of genetic information. The way to access it is to provide it with the right conditions for it to be activated. The knowledge within the books equally requires fertile ground to blossom into new ideas and understanding. The Library gives a platform to curate the books and seeds, finding connections between the knowledge within them and nurture their synergies. By bridging the gap between the different systems of knowing, the library rejects the dichotomy of nature and culture and approaches knowledge as a universal idea.

The library works not only as a way to collect seeds and books but also as a social meeting point within the feral space that gathers the people open for exchange of knowledge. The library has two modes - static and mobile. In both formats it fulfills multiple roles. The static, (stacked) mode is designed to be stationary to transform the space that it inhabits. It acts as a space creator for storing and exchanging knowledge in the form of seeds and books gathered on its travels.

In the mobile mode, it can be transported around on the bicycle trailer. The library then becomes a tool to approach feral spaces. To gather and spread the knowledge they contain.
